Online Content Advisory Committee (OCAC)
The Online Content Advisory Committee’s primary function is to gather online content (articles, updates, features, images, videos, infographics, charts, etc.) relating to PPA’s mission and share it with PPA staff. Each week, PPA staff will determine how, or if, such content will be used as a way to strengthen PPA’s standards and vision, enriching PPA’s online offering and increasing the association’s weight as the go-to resource for professional photographers.
Charter from Board Policy
1. 3.28 Online Content Advisory Committee. The Online Advisory Content Committee is tasked with providing insight to the PPA staff and Board of Directors on issues that pertain to online content. The function of the Online Content Committee will be to oversee the process of sorting through the vast amounts of content on the web and presenting it in a meaningful and organized way around a specific theme. Through the leadership of the committee, members will capture attention in today’s information cluttered world, and will help the PPA to become the “Go-To” author on an issue or topic area. The work involves sifting, sorting, arranging, and assisting PPA Staff in publishing information.
Committee is selected by the incoming President in March.
In essence, OCAC should, on a weekly basis:
1.) Identify content, fresh/up-to-date/new/ recent content that matters to photographers and creative small business owners. Content should be a week old at most for this Committee’s purposes. The content can be articles, news updates, features, photos, memes, videos, info-graphics, charts, etc.
2.) Write up a 1-2 line explanation of why this is relevant for PPA members / how it helps photographers / or why this should be shared with professional photographers in general. The write up can be very short, as it is not just so that PPA staff can understand how it serves PPA’s mission to educate, inspire, inform, protect members and help them be more efficient, more profitable or more in-demand.
Please note: Filling out this application does not guarantee a spot on the committee, however it's a great start to getting more involved with PPA!
